Cameron Scott returns to Australian Cycling Academy

Cameron Scott wins the National Criterium Title

World champion track-cyclist Cameron Scott is returning to the ARA | Pro Racing Sunshine Coast team, after leaving earlier this year to try out for the Australian Olympic track team.

The 22-year-old missed his chance at competing in Tokyo, but said he now wants to reclaim his spot on the team roster.

“I have a pretty good relationship with the staff, and most of the other riders,” he said.

“It feels like I never really left.”

ACA director Ben Kersten said he is excited to have Scott back.

“To have him back on the racing program is awesome, because whenever he rides for us, he wins a race,” he said.

“He won a stage of the Tour of Qinghai Lake with us which was at three and a half thousand metres altitude, and he went for six to seven hours.

“He also won a national criterium title, so it doesn’t matter if the race is long, short, hilly, flat.

“He’s an animal.”

Scott’s first race back will be the Tour de Tweed in September, when the National Road Series returns.
