Wilson Asset Management welcomed as Official Partner

The Australian Cycling Academy (ACA) is thrilled to announce a three-year partnership with leading Australian investment manager Wilson Asset Management.

Wilson Asset Management has a track record of making a difference for shareholders and the community for almost 25 years. Established in 1997 by Geoff Wilson AO, Wilson Asset Management is the investment manager of eight listed investment companies and invests than $5.5 billion on behalf of over 130,000 retail investors. All philanthropic donations are made by the investment manager and not the listed investment companies (LIC) that shareholders invest their capital in.

The partnership will be instrumental in supporting the ACA in its development of some of Australia’s elite up-and-coming young cyclists and assist the academy to cement its position as the leading cycling development program in the country.

Wilson Asset Management was the Main Partner of the 2022 UCI Road World Championships in Wollongong in September. The partnership was founded on mutual objectives of supporting people and creating a legacy for the community. Wilson Asset Management also teamed up with a social enterprise start-up Good Cycles to provide free bike services to spectators during the week-long global competition.

ACA Chief Executive Officer Matt Wilson, thanked Wilson Asset Management Chairman and Chief Investment Officer Geoff Wilson AO and the wider Wilson Asset Management team for their commitment to their athletes through to 2025.

“We are thrilled to welcome Wilson Asset Management as Official Partner to the ACA for the next three years. This generous support directly influences and improves every opportunity we can offer to our young athletes.”

Geoff Wilson AO said “Wilson Asset Management has a long-standing commitment to making a difference for our shareholders and the community. We look forward to working with ACA to foster the development of youth athletes and to demonstrate the long-term value of investing in financial, physical and mental wellbeing of young people through cycling and community engagement.”

It has been another hugely successful year for ACA riders, with three signing professional European contracts, gold medals at the Australian Road National Championships and international stage wins at Tour de Langkawi and Tour of Southland. Following last week’s Tour of Tasmania, the team secured the overall NRS win in both the men’s and women’s classifications.
