Take on the challenging and fully timed 100km or 59km course around the stunning Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
Departing from the USC Race Village riders will head out through the historic town of Palmwoods before the first climb of the day at Montville – a massive 6km of climbing at 5.5%! Riders will then take in the picturesque views of the range along to Mapleton before descending down to Nambour where they’ll take on the final two climbs of the ride. The climb comes in two steep parts of 2.8km at 8.6% and then 1.7 at 9% – this one is not for the faint hearted! Riders will then head back to USC via the same route.
For those on the Half Century you’ll take the same route as the Century until reaching the top of the climb at Montville where you’ll begin the treacherous decent of Hunchy, then back through Palmwoods to the USC. This non-elite, mass participation event is open to all ages – but it’s a tough ride, so riders would be expected to have an intermediate level of fitness.
Post event, stay on to watch Australia’s best men and women NRS riders compete on a 3km super tight time trial course around the USC campus.
Get ready to Crank the Coast this December, in the inaugural Sunny Coast Century.
