Originally from a mountain biking background, 2018 was a breakout season for the young Potter on the road with the team. Beginning with a third place in the National U23 road race in January, Potter went from strength to strength to become one of the key leaders of the team. Potter is also in the third year of a Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Sydney, which he combines with training and regular domestic and international racing.
