Alastair is an 18-year-old Buderim local in his third year with the team. He has had an amazing progression recently breaking the Queensland individual pursuit record following on from another national medal in the Australian U19 road race titles. As part of the academy, Alastair has successfully combined his racing and academic goals. As of 2020, he has started the Bachelor of Business program at USC after finishing at Matthew Flinders Anglican College in 2019.

ARA Pro Racing Sunshine Coast sports director Stuart Shaw says teenagers Sebastian Barrett and Alastair Mackellar showed promising signs in event two of the online National Road Series but he’s eager for the team to start pressing for victory.
